## Definition

An age calculator works out the completed time between a date of birth and a target date, expressed as calendar years, months and days. It accounts for leap years and for months of different lengths, and clamps month ends so that one month after 31 January is the last day of February. Calendar day totals are counted from the dates themselves rather than from elapsed time, so they do not shift with time zones or daylight saving.

## How to Use

1. **Choose what to work out** — Pick Age on a date for a completed age, or Milestone date for the date a given age is reached.
2. **Enter the date of birth** — Type or pick the day, month and year of birth. Impossible dates such as 30 February are rejected rather than shifted.
3. **Enter the target date or milestone** — In age mode the target date defaults to today and can be changed to any past or future date. In milestone mode enter a whole number and choose years, months, weeks or days.
